Off-Road Drive - gameplay - awesome terrain - needs bikes!

I love this game, but it sure has some quirks!
If only there was FREE ROAMING and a TRACK EDITOR + BIKE MODEL!
The terrain just kicks butt and I would love to run a dirt bike on it!

It is a strange brew of arcade fun and slightly sim racing that is fun as all hell, but just screams for a little more finish to the product.  See VIDEO below...

I'm VERY glad I bought it and played 6 hours - so far

Thats a very nice looking game .

i think it could have engine failure so that we dont go full throttle every where (with full RPM all time) , and axles failure also , steering wheel failure too (some % ) , vehicle damage  , metal and other parts out  ,
i wouldn´t mind if it was more radical on physics and other things.

Its a very cool game , and looks like finally they released their games all over the world , or not because im not sure 
If not , need to be.

Come to think of it - every game I play - I imagine having an MX bike to ride in the world.
I want to ride through a lot of the Call of Duty, Battlefield, Crysis, Skyrim games with a dirt bike & transforming terrain!

Something like "PROJECT CARS" for OFF-ROAD with DIRT BIKES!
Ideally supports free roam riding + track and race editor, object imports, etc.
Ideally supports multi-player / FPS quake style browser + auto "map" downloads.
Ideally supports custom bike + rider skins + auto "skin/model" downloads for MP.

I picked it up and made sure it was working and did the tutorial.  I haven't had much time to play it after that.    When I do the winching I can't tell where my anchor is.  I don't see the cable until I actually am winching. 

I like how they have done the muck and modeling that you can get stuck with one wheel in the air, which forces you to manage your transfer case and differentials.

Hey Randall! How do you like CARS?
I plan to get CARS next... I just got the rFactor2 BETA (it's just OK so far).
- limited content, very nice graphics, low FPS @ Q9550, 3.2ghz, 8 GB ram, 6870-1GB
- good feeling grip, overkill FFB on curbs - I dialed that down some in Logitech Profiler

I've talked about & wanted to create "Project MOTO" for years via a similar model to CARS, but every time I got serious about it and mocked up a website - we would get a PC version of the latest xbox moto game and TD would get involved with that and I'd give up my idea.  I also tried to get people interested at R.E.G. and other 3d game engine modDB type sites & tried a few FPS game engines myself but give up due to the complexity and time - plus I never found any mod teams very interested in racing games.  There were a few unreal or crysis engine racing mods started I think, but I never got interested enough to follow them or saw finished mods.

BACK TO - OFF-ROAD DRIVE:
My wheel works fine - but it acts like a game pad...
I think the gas & brake are on a split axis vs. separate axis's.
I was able to map naturally some buttons, but labels are gibberish.
I just wanted to play the game, so I accepted the weirdness to begin.
Now that I've played a while, I hope to sort out shifting, winching and starting the game in 4x4 mode & locked diffs rather than set it each time at the start of each race.

Just to get going, I mapped buttons the I know - but it does not label them correctly.
- fake example = what would normally be Button 11 shows up as: ?_button_zxy
- - I'll update this later... hopefully I will figure some stuff out in Logitech Profiler

I have 8+ hours logged in Steam @ OFF-ROAD DRIVE and will run many more.

I still have lots more content to unlock, but the nature of the slow paced "racing" and the length of the tracks make it difficult to progress (unlock content) if you don't finish high enough and it makes it tedious running "do-overs" to finish higher.

Quirky game but LOTS of fun - if you are into off-road in any way!

Heya Troy... hope all is well Brother!

CARS blows rF2 away!  I bought rF2 (lifetime-$85) and still have not got all the packs to run.  the 1960s is not loading properly; more than likely not a complete D/L however, I D/L 5 times.  I know its early beta.... but so far away from any real improvements over rF.  I have Mods that look better.  But I will watch it's only been 4 years in development!

CARS I did the Senior Investment... awesome feel on Watkins Glenn (calleConnecticutct Hill) great feel to the cars and offers multiple options now only 3-4 months in development.  Should set a new standard in game development.  I hope it goes BIG!

Of course I have GTR2/GTL, iRacing as well. 

Best part is... I race IRL a Spec Miata in SCCA.  Ran barber Labor Day Weekend.... more for another thread!
