I can't see the pc ever being phased out as a games platform. Mainly because it's too hard to aim with a joystick.

I'm hoping that the new X-Box which strays away from being PC like will actually bring PC game programming back.

It's pretty easy to port a PC game to the XBOX and vice versa, but I don't know if it will be true for the 360.

From what I know, the term "pretty easy" is way off.

It's not way off. It is a relative term. I am comparing it to porting a game between a PS2 and windows, or a Gamecube and Windows (and even the 360 and Windows). The XBox's operating environment is basically a stripped down version of Windows with DirectX.
